Dr. Balasubramanya K V is a pioneer of laser dentistry in South India and the co-founder and Director of Dental Solutions Clinic, Indiranagar, Bangalore. Over a career spanning more than 25 years, he has established himself as one of the most technically accomplished and internationally trained dental specialists in Karnataka.
His journey began with an MDS in Periodontics, with a focus on the complex relationship between oral health and systemic disease. Recognising early in his career that laser technology would transform periodontal treatment, he pursued postgraduate training at the University of Vienna through the Society of Oral & Laser Applications (SOLA) — the institution responsible for clinical laser protocols used by dental specialists worldwide. He completed both the Diploma and the Master’s qualification in Laser Dentistry from Vienna, one of the very few clinicians in India to hold both.
He was among the first practitioners in India to introduce LANAP Nd-Yag (Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure) and WPT (Twin light technique/ Dual wavelength) Nd-yag & Er-Yag (Wavelength Optimised Periodontal Therapy) protocols. These treatments allow patients to save teeth by treating minimal invasive procedure for moderate to advanced periodontitis.
He is pioneer in LASER PRACTICE since more than 2 decades, his specialization and his approach to treat keyhole or minimal invasive procedure to avoid traditional FLAP SURGERY.
His key approach not only limit to treat for periodontitis, based on his vast experience his handwork extends to TONGUE TIE Release, cosmetic correction (gummy smile), depigmentation much more which can treat by Laser.
Beyond his clinical practice at Dental Solutions Clinic, Dr. Balasubramanya serves as Professor and Head of the Dental Department at Sakra World Hospital, Marathahalli, and as Senior Consultant at Chinmaya Mission Hospital, Indiranagar. He has conducted CDE (Continuing Dental Education) programmes and live laser demonstration courses at multiple dental institutions across Karnataka, and his research has been published in recognised dental journals and publications.
